Prior to the application of The SureCoat Roof System, this roof had over 100 leaks at the separating expansion joints and standing seams. Part of the tenants lease agreement was that they were responsible for repairing and sustaining the roof on the building that they occupied. In addition, the facility is used to manufacture copper cables and water intrusion interrupts production at their plant.

Temperatures range from 20-120 degrees Fahrenheit

By using the SureCoat Liquid Single Ply, Ricardo Fierro of Iron Square Foot was able to provide the building with a monolithic and sustainable roof system, eliminating concern for water intrusion at the roof seams.

According to Ricardo, this was a complicated roof with few options for waterproofing. An asphalt system was not an option for this building because the roof connects to the building with removable clips. These clips allow for expansion up to 3-4 inches in length. Asphalt would crack and fail as it is not engineered with elongation. It is easily beat up by the sun with little UV resistance and therefore not a sustainable option for the extreme weather conditions of Juarez, Mexico! Temperatures in this part of Mexico range from 20 degrees to 120 degrees Fahrenheit, including several months of 110 degree summer heat. Another proposed possibility was a TPO system but when cost-out; The SureCoat Roof System came in at about 30% less $ than a TPO system.

Since the SureCoat installation, this roof has been hit with 2 recent rain storms and not one leak!
