Don Hoover is known on the East Coast for his professional work in all types of roof restoration. Recently Hoover and his team resurfaced the 1,000 square foot roof of 1207 Q Street, a building belonging to the Vermont Avenue Baptist Church in Washington DC. This building used to be a rundown row house. The church purchased the building with the plan to use it as means for additional rental income to the church. After purchased, the church renovated both the interior and exterior of their new building. Next on the list was their much needed roof!

The on-again, off-again showers of the East Coast, make having a leak-free roof difficult and yet of vital importance. Recently the Washington DC area experienced 30 days of rain. After this storm made its way through the surrounding area, the Vermont Avenue Baptist Church decided that they must move forward with the roof. Don Hoover was able to educate the members of the Vermont Avenue Baptist Church about the importance of choosing a roof replacement alternative that is engineered for waterproofing.

“Short-term mastic and acrylic roof repairs will not ever be able to provide you with a leak-free roof.” – Don Hoover

Don Hoover of Hoover Home Improvements was able to complete the job with his trained and professional crew immediately. Hoover and his crew were able to install this new Liquid Seamless Single Ply system over the existing metal roof after a simple cleaning. The SureCoat Roof System will prevent future damage to this metal roof. Part of the SCRS chemical make-up consists of a resin designed specifically for adhesion to metal while remaining flexible to prevent cracking and peeling.

The building was never put out of service in order to complete The SureCoat Roof System application as it would have been with many other roof system installations. The Vermont Avenue Baptist Church saved money and down-time with the SCRS roof replacement alternative. Instead, they were given a roof system that comes with a manufacturer’s written renewable warranty. Not only was the Hoover Roofing team able to seal and stop the Vermont Avenue Baptist Church leaks, but they applied a system to their roof that will last as long as their building is in use.
