David states when mentioning Starr Cannon and Gary Leese, “The business couldn’t run without them!”

When designing and building, Cannon Storage Systems, Inc. installs and specifies only low-maintenance, high-quality materials. That is the same approach that they took when researching products for the insurance claim restoration work needed at Allied Self Storage located at 1436 N. Kelly in Edmond, Oklahoma. A hail storm had compromised the integrity of the Allied Self Storage standing seam metal roofs. There was a total of 71,000 sq. ft. of storm and hail damage over their snap-together roof systems covering 5 buildings. It was this project that led David Cannon to embark on a research project to find the best quality, low maintenance materials that would restore this property to new condition. It was this research that led Cannon Storage Systems, Inc. to SureCoat Systems for their first SureCoat Cool Roof Restoration System.

When asked why the SureCoat Roof System vs. others for this project, president, David Cannon said this;

“I wanted a product that I could stand behind. When we are in charge of a project, our customers don’t have to worry about our work and we want it to be that way with the products that we use as well. There are many products out there, a lot of coatings, but we didn’t find any with the characteristics of SureCoat.”

The SureCoat Roof System was a perfect fit for this type of project. The elastomeric, monolithic, waterproof, membrane adheres to all types of metals including Kynar, aluminum, sheet metal, and stainless steel. HVAC ducts, plenums and flashings can be sealed and reconditioned also.

The SureCoat Roof System forms an elastomeric, seamless, protective, waterproof membrane over the roof field that moves with thermal cycles. Without water and air, the oxidation process is interrupted so rust no longer forms on the metal. The SureCoat Roof System is a cool roof membrane that retains most of its original values even after years in service.

The SureCoat Roof System emits 93% of the heat back into the atmosphere according to aged testing results, keeping interior temperatures cooler. With a solar reflectance of 81% aged testing, the roof is protected from UV rays that cause deterioration throughout its entire life cycle on the roof. In most cases this is 10 to 15 years. Cleaning the roof periodically helps maximize the solar reflectance benefits. The manufacturer’s written material warranty can be renewed with light maintenance applications every 10-15 years to maintain The SureCoat Roof System for the life of the building.
