A local SureCoat Systems roofing contractor built an 850 square new warehouse roof over The MAP Sports Facility. When the approved roofing contractor originally took this warehouse roof under contract, they used a roof maintenance plan to keep an eye on the roof. With roof maintenance, the roofing contractor was able to keep the leaks at bay while the building owners got together a budget for a new warehouse roof.

Prior to the construction remodel, this was a vacant storage warehouse. The building had three major concerns that were all solved with the SureCoat Roof System; 1) continuous roof leaks, 2) the tenants would not allow for a tear-off and 3) heat transfer into the building. Hundreds of athletes in motion have a tendency to create a lot of hot air!
The MAPS facility had already completed their $500,000 interior redesign and improvements when the roof leaks began. Approximately $300,000 of improvements to the warehouse were eight new maple wood basketball courts and volleyball courts, new carpet and new flooring. Roof leaks were a serious concern for the tenant their first years open and a roof tear-off was just as much of a concern. These basketball courts could not get wet or be exposed to the elements. A roof tear off would not only create a huge mess with truckloads of waste, debris and fumes, but would likely damage the newly remodeled sports venue and close down their daily operations. Fortunately, the local roofing contractor was able to give MAPS a new warehouse roof without a roof tear off.
The MAP Sports houses large and small basketball tournaments and both private and recreational sports leagues every day of the week. After a ½ million dollar construction investment funded in part by dozens of big name sponsors, closing down for a month or more, was not possible for the partners of The MAP Sports Facility. They did not want any new construction to damage their expensive investment, yet they definitely needed a new warehouse roof for their sports venue.

The roofing contractor performed approximately 10,000 SF of SureCoat roof coating repairs over the course of three years, while the building owners worked to budget for a new warehouse roof. The SureCoat roof coating repairs were tied into as part of the full roof coating system once the roof budget was funded. The SureCoat Roof System was completed on this building in April of 2014.
