SureCoat Systems Certified Contractor, California Exteriors Roofing, is awarded the January project of the Month for their seamless single ply installation at Kirkelie Business Park.
Kirkelie Development was originally introduced to the SureCoat roof coating systems by Chris Cadwell of Roof Repair Experts. Roof Repair Experts is the SureCoat Systems certified contractor for the Las Vegas, Nevada area. Roof Repair Experts successfully completed a series of repairs on Kirkelie Development’s shopping center in Las Vegas using The SureCoat Roof System. It was these leak-free repairs that convinced the property owner that SureCoat was the right material for their California buildings as well. Sold since the beginning on the idea that SureCoat roof repairs can later be integrated into a fully warranted system as their roof budgets allow, Kirkelie’s owner contracted with California Exteriors Roofing to complete the major roof repairs on their Pacoima Center. Permanent repairs are a whole new concept in the roof coating industry.
California Exteriors Roofing is located in Sun Valley, California, and has been perfecting exterior commercial roof and residential roof projects for over 20 years. When asked why he chooses to install The SureCoat Roof System, Kip Wilhite of California Exterior Roofing stated “I need a durable epoxy especially for roof drain repairs. SureCoat goes down nice and easy and holds up better than most.”
Although SureCoat was written into the specification for the scope of work provided by Kirkelie’s owner, Kip said that he would have used The SureCoat Roof System on this project anyways. The project was opened up for bids in November 2011. California Exteriors Roofing’s reputation of exceptional work at a competitive price won them this roof reconditioning and repair contract. The scope of work for this project included torch down repairs, drain and scupper repairs and OSB board replacement where there was dry rot. After building the roof deck back up and tying it into the existing roof it was coated with The SureCoat Roof System (coating-fabric-coating system). This is a prime example of letting your roof go unprotected for too long. Much of this could have been avoided had this roof been coated with The SureCoat Roof System prior to the substrate damage.
