Pioneer Roofing and Specialties, has been voted Las Cruces’ Best Roofing Contractor 5 years in a row by the readers of the Las Cruces Sun-News and I am guessing that their pioneering efforts like those seen on this completed SureCoat Roof System project are partly to blame!
Mario Moreno, owner of Pioneer Roofing, and his crews have sold and installed dozens of SureCoat Roof Restorations this coating season throughout the city of Las Cruces alone! Mario has three crews and SureCoat roof installs booked well into spring of 2015.

Just look at the perfection of this roof on the home of the Eric and Donna Johnson in the Horseshoe neighborhood of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Mario and his crew installed a complete SureCoat Roof Restoration while the Johnson’s solar system stayed in place on their roof! Eliminating removal of the solar energy system alone saved these homeowners thousands of dollars and the more panels on the roof, the higher the cost of disconnection and reinstallation. Look at this case study performed on the South Coast AQMD roofs. The cost to disconnect and reinstall just one of their solar systems was estimated at $80,000.
This roof turned out to be a Latent Hail Damage case which required a Forensic Specialist to diagnose. When originally inspected, the claim on this hail damaged roof was minimal only paying for a few damaged parapet wall areas. Concerned that they were in need of a more thorough evaluation, Mr. Eric Johnson, PE, both a Professional Engineer and practicing professor at NMSU, further pursued his claim with State Farm Insurance. It was then, that State Farm called in a Forensic Specialist from Colorado.
Due to the findings of the Forensic Specialist, this homeowner was compensated for a new roof. Deciding rather to go with their trusted contractor, Mario Moreno’s recommendations of a SC monolithic restoration as a re-roof alternative, the homeowner saved thousands on the install avoiding the cost associated with a tear-off including disconnecting and reinstallation of their roof-mount solar system.
The Johnson’s will continue to see additional savings even well after the installation of their new SureCoat Roof is complete. A SureCoat Roof System is a highly reflective and heat emitting roof that is UV stable and will increase the solar capture of roof-mount panels and aid in producing more clean energy for the life of the roof and solar. Since this project the temperatures throughout the Midwest have led Mario and his crews at Pioneer Roofing to make the switch to SureSet Quick-Dry base coat to button up roofs this winter and complete their SureCoat roof projects in less time with less labor and less down-time. Now we’re saving money for the contractor too!
“Once my guys used SureSet on their first job, they told me not to buy anything else! My guys just loved it! It dried fast and set up nicely to embed the poly-mesh. After we installed SureSet and the reinforcement on our first job, it rained for a few days and No Leaks! We always sell the SureCoat Roof System and always will. My customers and crews Love it!”
